NOOK Totes are naturally dyed and handcrafted here in Perth, WA. Each cloth tote bag is made to be ‘Naturally One - Of -a -Kind’ (NOOK). The bags feature the many colours produced by natural dyes which are unique and beautiful, especially when used on 100% Linen, Hemp and Cotton.

Natural dyes are derived from plants, minerals, and insects. They have been used for centuries in textile crafts worldwide offering a sustainable alternative to synthetic dyes. Natural dyeing is a ‘slow’ and eco-friendly process.
Three separate processes are used to prepare the cloth for dyeing ensuring sustainability (lightfastness and wash fastness). The cloth is then dyed, painted, printed and hand made into bags. Japanese sewing techniques such as Boro (visible mending) are used to embellish the Totes and ensue sturdiness and durability.
