Sophie Johnson Ceramics

Sophie uses different processes to achieve her organic-formed body pots. Hand-thrown vessels are then altered by hand to create curvaceous, life like, feminine forms.
"The female form is something to be admired, celebrated and praised". Sophie believes that each female body is beautiful and finds a deep connection with each piece she makes. "After becoming a mother and watching a change in my own body, I found myself becoming proud and astonished by what it could do. These pots help me reconnect with Mother Earth and our bodies. I find I become mesmerised but the folds, each curve slowly blending into the rest of the vessel. It's very empowering to make these pots"

Sophies pieces can sometimes be 'unconventional' but never the less, always put a smile on your face.
