With the COVID19 Pandemic and all the restrictions in place regarding social isolation one of the first areas impacted was Events - which includes Perth Makers Market.

EVENTS SUSPENDED...

We are sure it will come as no surprise to you all that this COVID19 situation has had a huge impact on us. Due to social distancing (and common sense) we are currently unable to run any of our events, and we have no idea when we will be able to get up and running again.

With all this in mind, we have suspended all events for 2020 effective immediately. As we get close to each event date, we will delete it from our events section of the Facebook page, so you may get some notifications about this.

We hope that at some point in time in the second half of the year we will be able to return to running our market, and we will be trying to do so the cheapest way possible to make it as cost-effective for our stallholders as we can.

You may have noticed over the last week or so we have been sharing information about some of our stallholders here and on our instagram. Many of our stallholders run their businesses as their sole source of income, or need to rely on their business more due to having lost their job throughout this COVID19 crisis.

We are going to continue sharing their products and stories with you all during this time via our social media, blog and newsletter (you can subscribe to our newsletter via our website), and if you are able to support them through purchases, shoutouts, likes and comments it would be greatly appreciated.

We hope you are all keeping safe and well during this time, and we hope to see you at our markets on the other side of this.

All our love,

Erin Madeley (Founder & Director) and the Perth Makers Market Team.

Shop Online!

We are proud to be partnered with Perth Happenings, and they have taken the initiative to turn their events website into an online marketplace during this COVID19 situation to help assist small businesses effected by event cancellations and shop closures.

The website is really easy to navigate, with products divided into categories for you to shop.

Businesses each set up their own shop, and have the ability to create coupon codes they can share with their loyal followers to use during their shopping experience. When making payment you have a choice of using PayPal or Stripe.

Once payment has been made, the business who you have purchased a product from will then ship to you directly!

Want to shop and support local? Do so here!
We know that many people have been hit hard financially with all the COVID19 stuff going on, so shopping locally may be beyond you right now. Here are some other ways that you can continue to support local businesses during this difficult time...
  1. Subscribe to their e-newsletter to keep up to date with what they are up to (often you can get a cheeky discount code to use).
  2. Follow them on social media - and make sure to like their posts, comment and share them with your family and friends!
  3. Some vendors use AfterPay (or similar) - make use of this great service if you can.
  4. Tell your family and friends about the local businesses you support as they may be able to afford to purchase from them during this period, which helps to keep our local economy going.
  5. Have you purchased from a local business in the past? Leave them a review! Reviews on social media, websites and Google are hugely helpful to local business as this helps future customers with purchasing decisions.
  6. Have a business that you love and want to see on the other side of this all? Check in with them and ask them how they are doing! Often knowing that our community is supporting us and are concerned with our wellbeing can help us to keep going, rather than giving up and closing our doors.

If you can afford to make purchases during this time, please do! Every little bit helps. You can still shop online, and many of our stallholders are working towards creating online shops, or are able to sell through their social media.
